ABOUT LAKESIDE BAPTIST ACADEMY

Message From Our Executive Director,

Twenty years ago God let my husband, Mitchell,  and I on one of our greatest adventures - homeschooling.  I didn’t really know anyone who taught their children at home, but we felt a strong calling for numerous reasons.  Because the Bible is preeminent in our lives, we strongly believed Deuteronomy 6:5-7 was a direct call to homeschool. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.  These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.  Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”  We were young, inexperienced parents, and we saw older friends whose children were entering junior high struggle with negative peer pressure, rebellion and constantly challenging their Christian upbringing. So we felt that the majority of those formative years, needed consistent training at home under our watchful eye instead of away from home where we couldn’t be certain our faith, values and conduct were being reinforced. Thus, the journey of a lifetime began!  We have now celebrated 29 years of marriage, raised 4 great kids, loved many pets, participated in family mission trips, made lifelong friends, and lived in some great locations.  Caidon, our oldest, graduated, married Jeremy Glover and is currently in grad school at Baylor.  Carolin, attended Howard Payne University for a couple of years and is now working for a chiropractor in Abilene.  Curstin completed her basics and was accepted this fall into Texas Tech University Health Science Center to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  Colton, a senior in high school, also serves as a volunteer Explorer for Somervell County Fire Department, and is working to finish his paramedic license.  Homeschooling is a lifestyle and a family must be led to start down this path.  There will be many challenges to overcome, and days you wonder what in the world was I thinking?  However, you will also create a lifetime of memories, learn more than you ever knew possible, be challenged spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically; however,  I promise you will never look back and say, “I regret those days and time I devoted to my children’s education, spiritual growth, and upbringing.” As director of LBA I want to encourage you in your calling and assist you in homeschooling your children.  We have a team of dedicated, well trained teachers who love what they do and are very good at it!  Let us help make this the best year ever and walk alongside you in your own homeschool journey.

Blessings,

Regina George

Our Philosophy

Lakeside Baptist Academy is founded on the philosophy that parental involvement is fundamental to a child’s success in life and that this involvement can be enhanced through a partnership and collaboration with trained, gifted teachers. By combining the individual strengths of both parents and teachers to function as the “body of Christ,” the students will benefit from a broader scope of educational and spiritual opportunities.

Core Purpose

Lakeside Baptist Academy will minister to home school families through God given opportunities for spiritual, academic, and social growth while equipping parents to teach their children to be diligent, committed, lifelong learners, and Christ’s witnesses forever.
